Elementary PFO Message:

The AFIA Elementary PFO Fundraiser is still underway. Have you made your donation yet? If each student collects just $10, we will raise $1,500 for field trips, special events, facilitator appreciation lunches and more. We will be collecting donations until this Friday, November 30.

To donate online visit the AFIA Elementary PFO webpage:

For cash donations, download this form and turn into the donation box inside the front office (we are unable to accept checks or money orders at this time):

**Make sure you include your child’s grade on your donation.**
The grade that receives the most donations will receive a pizza party provided by the PFO. If we raise our $1,500 goal the whole school will celebrate with a pajama day.
Please, remember, any donation amount will go directly to the AFIA elementary.
Thank you for your support,
AFIA Elementary PFO

Happy Veteran's Day

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I want to take time to honor our Veterans! My father served 30 years in the military and my older brother is in his 15th year of service, so Veterans hold a very special place in my heart. I appreciate the sacrifice made daily to protect my family and keep us all safe! To all Veterans, I wish you a Happy Veterans Day. Thank you for your service!

Our career fair was a great experience for all of our students. Students were able to interact with doctors, managers, a pharmacologist, financial advisers, a business owner and former NBA player, a meteorologist, Facebook, and law enforcement officers.

Parking Lot Safety: As you know, school parking lots (especially ours) can be incredibly busy places. Ensuring student and parent safety is important to us and our responsibility, but it also requires driver responsibilities as well. Please remember to always be aware of our students, parents, and staff crossing the parking lot. To avoid delays and congestion, please pull as far forward as possible. Remember that school zones are hands-free zones. Cell-phones and devices can distract you from seeing others trying to get to their cars or create congestion from not knowing to pull forward. Lastly, please monitor your speed. We appreciate your support!

PFO Meeting: Just a reminder that we have a PFO meeting on Monday November 5 at 6pm in the middle school plaza. We look forward to seeing you all there!

Please remember that our Seagull Mascot contest ends November 16th. If you need more details about this contest, please reach out to me.

Lastly, I want to announce that Mrs. Salinas has resigned from her Special Education facilitator position. We all want to thank Mrs. Salinas for all of her support and dedication to our students. The relationships that she built with our students, each of you, and our staff will be difficult to replace, but we are excited to announce that Mrs. Gerry has been promoted to the SPED facilitator position at AFIA. Mrs. Gerry has been working with our students and has been a valuable member of our staff since day 1. We look forward to her taking over the position and continuing to build positive relationships with our students and each of you.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
